There they are. Round two of sockmadness is finished. Sore fingers tired and ready to quite the contest. When the next pattern comes out I just may change my mind. That is if I have one.

I was caught with my pants down on these socks. It was an early April Foods joke. I was at work with no yarn and needles and it upset my day as all I was thinking about was the time I was wasting at work. Not that I don't like my work, the conpetitive nature came out in me.

View from front porch

There is a picture from the our front porch. There is Hudson Bay Mountain. As you can see the ski runs have a lot of snow still.  The ski season is almost over for the year.   We have mountain views all around our house.  As you can see on the 30th of March we still have snow.  It fell to -9 last night.  When is spring coming?

On the knitting front I want to show my Luxury sock of the month yarn and pattern from theknitter.com.  The yarn is Pagewood Farm hand Dyed Sock Yarn.  it is merino/bamboo/nylon.  Colours are beautiful and the yarn is soft, soft.

Sock Madness/ The teaser for round 2 of sock madness

Sock Madness
I am looking at the pattern for the next round of sock madness.  What yarn is a girl to use for this pattern.  I like the look of the pattern but I think that the multi colours are distracting.  My opinion. The pattern is going to be released on April Fool's Day.  Am I the fool for wondering if I should take the day off to knit.  I am going to decide that after I learn what time the pattern is sent.

Still working on the serenity socks.  Just a few rounds left on first sock and then on to the second.

We woke up to snow this morning.  Just like a bad dream.

Very First Entry

Here it is

This is the start of a new blog.  This is the time for beginnings as spring is coming.  The yard still has up to 8 inches of snow  in spots but it is melting a little every day.  We are winter weary, so spring can not come fast enough.

Being a knitting blog, I should mention some knitting.  I have started the sock madness again but have no burning desire to win this year.

This is the sock that I am knitting at the moment.  I am decreasing for the toe now so should finish today. IMGP0782.JPG
This is the first round of the sockmadness.  I did make the cut without knitting into the early hours of the night.  I was in no hurry to finish..

On the home front, we have company for Easter.  Legs of lambs will be in the oven tomorrow.

Project that I am working on Opal Rainforest

There they are.  The socks that never get finished.  I really like the colours of this sock yarn and I like the pattern but I am having a hard time finishing this project.

It is Good Friday today.  This is the first year that I did not make Hot Cross buns and now at 6:00  PM I am really missing them.

I have to leave my blog because the grandson wants to use my computer.  Little game player.

Another boring sock

Here are the socks that i think are the perfect fit.  They are knit with a german sock yarn on size 2.25mm
needles.  I have discovered that I like the feel of socks at that gauge. I am going to have to learn how to take more interesting pictures.  How boring it is to have to look at the same pose time after time.

The difference in what you like to look at and what you like to wear.

I have come to the realization that what I like to knit and what I like to wear are two different things.  I love to knit lacy socks, cable socks, and anything pretty but the socks I like to wear are the plain jane socks.  Just plain stockinette stitch.

I have made too many socks with colourful yarn that fight with the patterns.  So I am going to knit one pair of plain socks for every patterned pair.

Here are a pair of socks I knit for myself.  Love the colours and fit of these socks.  I am enjoying knitting earthy colours.  My bright coloured yarns will have to wait for be knit.

Where did the year go? Once again the sockmadness event is back. Out comes the needles and yarn from the totes. Picking over yarn to find just the right colour and hoping one will find what you want from the ever growing stash.

This round of sock pattern was called Zombies and it was a fun knit. I did not go crazy and pull an all nighter. I did fine with having to work both days.

I will have to start posting to this blog again.
